Roger Goodall (White House) 6-5-4 and Steve Walton (Black Horse ‘A’) 6-4-5 were both in astounding form as they clanged off 15 dolls for their respective teams. Goodall’s 15 came in White House home clash against New Club ‘A’ which they won 3-0. They won the first two legs at ease 28-20, 29-24. New club set the final leg with 26 and were on track to take the leg until White House anchorman Mick Phipps whipped off the four dolls needed to tie the leg and send it to a three sticker. Waltons 15 came in Black Horse ‘A’ 3-0 win at home to The Swan and how they needed him playing the perfect anchorman role. Swan set all three legs and could only muster up a set of 16 in the opening leg. Black Horse galloped past that with 24 which included Walton’s six. A set of 26 in the second leg was more challenging for The Horse. A steady reply from his teammates left Walton needing four dolls to win the leg and he was up to the task whipping off the dolls needed to give the Horse a 2-0 lead. Final leg a set of 24 by the Swan seemed a formality for The Horse when Pete Rampton started off with a six, however they collapsed after that for a bit but picked up near the end and left Walton needing four dolls again to win the leg. Once more it proved to be no problem for Walton as he went one better this time and clanged off five dolls to give a total of 26 and with it the leg and maximum win. Vikings Sports ‘B’ are still seeking their first win after they lost for the sixth time at home, this time to Queens Head ‘B’ 2-1. It started off well for Vikings when they set and won the opening leg 13-12. A set of 8 in the second leg did not trouble the Queens who hit 13 in reply to level the game. Final and deciding leg Vikings set again, this time with 11 and it looked like it was going to be enough as Queens only had 4 on the board with half the team thrown. However, they improved, and it was down to anchorman Jack Wells to knock off the three dolls needed to win the leg by the slightest of margins with 12.
