REPORT FROM MATCHES PLAYED ON WEDNESDAY 13TH JUNE

Roger Goodall was in awe-inspiring form as he clanged off sixteen dolls (6-5-5) for The Six Bells ‘C’ Kidlington, but it still could not prevent them going down to a 3-0 defeat at Premier leaders The Three Pigeons. Pete Dempsey for The Pigeons was also is cracking form as he clanged off a brace of sixes in his fifteen doll haul (6-3-6) and was well supported by team mates Neil Lyon 14 (4-5-5) and Eddie Edwards 13 (5-4-4) as they won all three legs 29-27, 30-25, 33-29.
Martin Ruffels starred for Garsington Sports Club ‘A’ as he bagged him self a six in his fourteen doll haul and helped the Sports men take all three legs against Red Lion ‘A’ Eynsham 29-21, 30-28, 29-25.
Tim Anderson, Paul Holt and Paul Sawyer all hit a bakers dozen for Red Lion ‘B’ Kidlington as they demolished The New Club 3-0. They never gave the New Club a look in winning all three legs 25-19, 29-21, 28-24.
Ian Houghton with fourteen dolls (4-6-4) led The Red Lion Brill to an away win at The Cricketers. They won the opening leg 25-20 lost the next 29-25 and clinched victory in the final leg 32-27.

In Section 2 Simon King clanged off thirteen dolls 5-4-4 for Red Lion ‘B’ Eynsham as they ran out 3-0 winners at home to Six Bells Quarry for whom Tony Barrett also hit thirteen dolls (5-5-4). Red Lion won all three legs 19-18, 22-14,20-16.

In Section 3 it was not unlucky thirteen for Craig Greenough as he whipped a bakers dozen (3-5-5) for The Original Swan in their 3-0 home win to The Chequers 19-15, 22-11, 18-13.
Vikings Sports ‘A’ inflicted the first defeat for leaders The Bullnose. Vikings took an early lead in the first leg 19-12 but Bullnose drew level in the next leg 20-17. Vikings claimed victory in the final leg 17-14.

Kennington Clubs Ian Walters was on for his best ever score when he hit 4 and a maximum 6 in his first two throws but then followed it up with a blob. They still came away with a 3-0 win at The Democrats Club though 24-16, 22-15, 18-15 in Section 4.

In Section 5 Donnington Club ‘C’ beat leaders Folly Bridge 3-0 but the game was a lot closer than the score suggests. The first leg was tied 13-13, which the club men won on three sticks. Donnington easily won the next 26-15 but only just won the final leg by the odd doll 21-20.
Only one doll separated Marston British Legion and The Crown ‘A’ in another close clash. Crown won the opening leg on three sticks after it was tied 13-13, with the club men levelling in the next leg 13-12. The final leg also went to three sticks after it was tied 20-20 and this time Marston won the three sticker to give them victory.

Red Lion Wolvercote scored nine more dolls than their opponents Gladiators ‘B’ (43-34) in Section 6 but still ended up losing 2-1. The Glad’s won the opening leg 14-13 and then went two nil up in the next leg on a one stick shoot out after it was tied 14-14 and 7-7. The Red Lion roared back in the final leg to win it 16-6.

Seamus O’Malley hit a steady dozen dolls (4-4-4) to guide Six Bells ‘B’ Kidlington in Section 8 to a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Red Lion ‘B’ Cassington 17-12, 20-10, 17-11.

In Section 11 Florence Park Club ‘B’ remain the only unbeaten team in the league after they came away with all three points from The Original Swan ‘C’. They won all three legs 13-10, 10-5, 18-10.
The George & Dragon had a disastrous start in the opening leg against Hollybush Inn as they could only muster up a set of four dolls. Hollybush easily passed that with fourteen. George & Dragon recovered well to win the next leg 13-9 and then went on to win the game in the final leg by one doll 9-8.
