Martin Cook from Team Monarch was in exceptional form as he smashed off fifteen dolls (5-4-6) in their 2-1 away win at The Chequers in Section 3. Monarch won the first two legs 23-16, 19-15 with Chequers claiming the last leg 23-16.
Thirteen dolls from Phil Jackson (6-4-3) helped The Three Horseshoes take maximum points at home to Cowley Workers winning all three legs with ease, 22-13, 24-15, 20-16.

In Section 2 Squire Bassett had a comfortable 3-0 victory at Kidlington Sports Club. Paul Holt led the way with fourteen dolls (5-5-4) as they took maximum points in the leg scores of 20-13, 26-22, 20-14.
Good team consistency from The Gladiators just gave them the edge at home to The Punch Bowl. They hit 29 in the opening leg with Punch Bowl replying with 17. Punch Bowl then set 24 in the next leg which The Glad’s tied thanks to anchor man Nick Chapman whipping off the three dolls needed, but Punch Bowl took the leg on three sticks. Final & deciding leg went to the Gladiators 22-19. Dave Webb top scored with thirteen dolls (4-5-4).
Pete Shepherd hit a steady 4-4-4 for The Queens Head but it was all in vain as they lost 2-1 to The White Hart, who set the opening leg with 19. After a slow reply Queens Head anchor man Shepherd was left five to win, which was just too much but he knocked off four dolls which tied the leg. Queens won the leg on three sticks, however White Hart came storming back to take the next two legs 23-16, 27-23. Simon King was top dog with thirteen dolls (4-4-5).

In the Premier/ Section One Ken Maunder with fourteen dolls (5-5-4) inspired Garsington Sports to a 2-1 win at holders Six Bells Kidlington. Garsington won the first leg 33-27, lost the next 27-23 but won the decider 32-31.

Veteran Mick Beane came to The Seacourt Bridge rescue twice as they just got the better over The Cricketers Littleworth in Section 4. Chasing a set of 16 in the opening leg anchor man Beane whipped off the two dolls needed to take an early lead. Secourt won the next leg 21-12 and then Cricketers set 16 in the final leg. Once again Beane produced the goods to clang off the four dolls needed to win the leg by the odd doll.

Steady throwing from Craig Greenough (4-4-4) was the difference as The Nelson ‘A’ come from behind to beat The Golden Ball 2-1 in Section 6. Nelson set all three legs and lost the opener 16-15 but won the next two 16-14, 18-12.
Donnington Club ‘C’ scored more dolls than Viking Sports ‘C’ but still lost out 2-1 in a close encounter. Donnington easily won the initial leg 21-17 but lost the next leg on three sticks after the leg was tied 16-16. The final leg went to Vikings 17-16. Cliff Lewis for Donnington was top dog with eleven dolls (5-2-4).

In Section 9 Jon Dunhill hit a rare six in his ten dolls but it could not prevent The Fairview going down 2-1 at Florence Park Club. Fairview produced some good throwing in the first leg winning it 20-15 but could not keep it up as Florence Park replied well winning the next two legs 17-12, 18-13.

There was some good throwing in Section 11 between Prince Of Wales Iffley and The Kite. Tony Flett from POW was in fine form with ten dolls (4-2-4) but they still lost 2-1 despite winning the first leg 13-10. Kite came storming back in the next leg in which Paul Wakefield whipped off five dolls as they won it 17-12. Kite wrapped up the points in the final leg 12-7.
